“You never think it’ll happen to you until it does; at age 26 I was diagnosed with stage IA malignant melanoma. All of the years of tanning outside & in beds, not wearing sunscreen or protective clothing harmed my largest organ, the skin. I only cared about being tan because that is when I thought I was most beautiful & I was wrong. Ever since my diagnosis, I have been a large advocate for melanoma awareness & sun safety. We are only given one body in this life so we must protect it.”
