Don’t Forget These Five Essentials for a Road Trip to the Shore

Don’t Forget These Five Essentials for a Road Trip to the Shore

Ah, sweet, sweet summertime. The sun is shining, it’s wonderfully warm outside, and you’re ready to take full advantage of your favorite season before that fall chill sweeps in. Our suggestion? A road trip to the shore.

If you live close enough to enjoy the beach for a weekend, or even just a day, you must go! It’s a summertime no-brainer, as far as we’re concerned. However, a beach trip requires a few essentials that you don’t usually need on a daily basis. Lucky for you, we’re sharing our five beach day must-haves. Take a peek, then get to packing!

1. A Beach Bag

You're going to need a place to put all of these suggestions, so let’s start with the obvious – a beach bag! Whether it's a tote or a duffel, as long as your bag of choice is ready to take on a load of towels, toys, snacks, and more, you’ll be good to go!

2. Swimsuits

Of course, to fully enjoy a beach day you’ll need a swimsuit or two. At Cabana Life, we recommend sun-protective bathing suits that offer ideal protection from UV rays, as well as spectacular style. We offer a variety of options for women, such as bikinis, one-pieces, rashguards, and tankinis. Cabana Life also makes sun-safe swimwear (with UPF 50+ protection, of course) for men and kids, too!

3. A Sun Hat

It’s no secret that the sun can do some serious damage to your skin during a day at the beach. For sun protection that’s both convenient and stylish, Cabana Life sun hats have you covered. Much like our swimsuits, our UPF 50+ hats will keep your entire face comfortably shaded from the sun’s rays. Whether you opt for a sophisticated wide-brim look, or a classic baseball cap, a sun hat is a must for every beach trip.

4. Sunscreen & Lip Balm

Does this one seem obvious? If it does, good! Sunscreen should be the first thing that gets thrown into your beach bag. Even though the sun’s rays feel great as they warm you up from the outside in, just remember – they’re not really your friend. To stay protected, be sure to lather up with a strong sunscreen (of SPF 30 or higher) and reapply often. To avoid chapped and burned lips, add an SPF lip balm to your sunscreen routine, too!

5. Water Bottle

Last, but certainly not least, you’ll need a reusable water bottle for your trip to the beach. It’s easy to get dehydrated while enjoying the salty breeze, cool ocean, and hot sun. Therefore, you need to have convenient access to water at all times! Any water bottle will do, but we happen to love stainless steel options; they’re kind to the environment and will keep your beverages cool all day long.
