In honor of Giving Tuesday, we want to highlight the ways we have been able to give back thanks to the support of our Cabana Life community.
While there has been a lot of change in 2020, one thing we are thankful for is that it taught us all to be kinder. Whether it’s wearing a mask or sending a gift just because, it’s been beautiful to see the world strive to help support others during this time.
This inspired us back in April to start the Spread Sunshine series. We asked you to nominate hardworking, inspiring women that have shown strength and perseverance during COVID-19. We highlighted the kind words shared about the powerful women nominated on our social media and blog.
We knew this wasn’t enough. As a brand born out of adversity, we strive to find creative ways to help others. Our founder, Melissa, was able to turn her battle with skin cancer into something beautiful, Cabana Life. That is what we strive to do every day: Make you look and feel your best both mentally and physically. Knowing that you are keeping you and your family safe with sun protective fashion makes everything that much better.
In April, we proudly joined other brands that want to offer support and stability during difficult times with Brands x Better. As a member of the coalition, we pledged to donate 10% of the proceeds to charities during the COVID-19 pandemic between April 13 - May 1.
We chose to give back to Get Us PPE, which provides protection to healthcare heroes on the frontlines. Thanks to all of you & more than 140 brands a part of Brands x Better coalition, over $3.8 million has been raised for COVID-19 relief efforts.
But the story doesn’t end there! After selling out in less than 24 hours in two limited launches of masks, we set out to provide more inventory so everyone could sport a bright, breathable and sun safe mask. When we launched our Face Masks and Cabana Covers we knew we wanted to continue our efforts by giving back with each purchase.
Not only are our Face Masks & Cabana Covers helping keep you and your community safe, but they also directly benefit our healthcare heroes. We chose to give 10% of the proceeds from each purchase of a Face Mask or Cabana Cover to Get Us PPE. We are proud to continue to donate to Get Us PPE through this partnership. It’s not over yet! We are continuing to partner with Get Us PPE and contribute to their efforts.
