Best Summer Binge Watching

summer binge watching

You might have some extra time to watch TV during the summer. When you don't have to wake up early or get extra work done, you can watch your favorite shows until all hours of the night. But most TV shows are done for the season. This is your chance to catch up on TV programs that everyone is talking about or start your favorite from the pilot episode. Here are a few of our favorites.

Netflix Summer Binge Watching

Orange is the New Black - This series follows Piper, a good-girl type exploring her wild side who ends up in jail. The show is at once hilarious, suspenseful, heart-warming and intense. It daringly covers controversial topics in an "I can't believe they just did that" kind of way.

Wet Hot American Summer - Want to see some of your favorite all-star actors (like Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon and Bradley Cooper) making fools of themselves as camp counselors at the quintessential 1980s summer camp? Watch this TV show adapted from the 2001 movie.

Amazon Prime Summer Binge Watching

The Americans - Set in the Cold War era, this program follows Russian spies who have been trained to live the American dream. Kerri Russel and Matthew Rhys play married Russian spies who must carry out orders from the KGB while pretending that they're just the typical American family. Their chemistry is incredible, and the suspense is thrilling.

The Good Wife - Julianna Margulies plays a wife and mom whose life is turned upside down when her husband is imprisoned for a public political and sex scandal. She redefines herself when she goes back to work as a litigator.

Red Oaks - Are you looking for a good comedy that lets you forget the world? Red Oaks will bring you back to your own childhood. The story centers around a college student and his friends who spend a lot of time at the local country club. While they're navigating the new world of adult responsibility, they also discover that the grown-ups who surround them aren't all that responsible either.

HBO GO Summer Binge Watching

True Blood - This show contrasts lighthearted, almost parody-like young-adult topics with a large dose of intense, tawdry scenarios. It's about a southern girl surrounded by vampires, werewolves and other supernatural creatures. Most of the time, you'd think they're all just regular Joes. They're not. Full of imagination and fantasy, it's fun to watch. Just don't put it on in front of the kids.

Veep - Another over-the-top hilarious comedy, Veep centers around the Selina Meyer, played by Seinfeld's Julia-Louise Dreyfus. You get to see how politicians really act behind the scenes. Plus, you'll be privy to some of the best one-liners on television.

When it's too hot to go outside even in your Cabana Life clothing, head indoors for some marathon TV watching and catch some of these unexpected and addicting TV shows.
