Where are you going this summer? Whether you're heading to a luxury resort or going camping with the kids, we have some travel tips for summer vacation.
The Luxury Resort
Even if you're staying in a resort that has everything, you'll want to bring along some sun protection and a few things to make life more convenient.
-Pack a few empty bags in your luggage. A beach bag and an insulated lunch cooler will help you stay organized as you're going from the pool to the beach to cocktail hour.
-Organize your gear in zippered plastic bags. Cabana Life clothing is shipped in these types of bags, making it easy to organize your clothing and accessories when you pack for vacation.
-Bring enough sunscreen. Sunscreen can be expensive when you buy it at the resort gift shop. If you're going abroad, they may not have your favorite brand of sun protection. Bring enough with you to get you through your trip.
-Pack all-in-one clothing. A dress that works as a beach cover up can double as a chic and summery outfit for an evening of dinner and dancing.
The Great Outdoors
If you're going camping, you need to plan for lots of time outdoors. If you don't have an RV or a camper, you need to be ready for the elements. Always be prepared if you want to enjoy a stress-free camping trip.
-Pack your gear in tubs. You can stack empty tubs below the filled ones. When you get to your campsite, separate them, and you'll have plenty of weatherproof storage for all your gear.
-Bring extra tarps. An extra-large tarp can provide more security when staked over your tent.
-Clear out the car. Summer thunderstorms are bound to come and go. If you keep the car free of clutter, you can head inside (or even sleep in it) if the weather gets really bad. Your gear will stay dry inside your tent.
-Freeze water bottles. You can keep your food cold by lining coolers with the frozen water bottles and pulling them out as necessary.
-Freeze your food. It will help serve as ice in your coolers.
The Road Trip
If you're moving from place to place on vacation, you want to make sure that you bring enough with you to get you through long hours on the road without weighing you down.
-Bring a cooler that fits easily between the seats of your car. You can pack it with extra water and healthy snacks so that you don't have to resort to fast food on the road.
-Pack a picnic blanket. Some styles are waterproof on one side, making them an ideal hangout spot no matter where you go.
-Bring your swimsuit. No matter where you're going, you never know when you're going to come across a local swimming hole.
-Pack activities for the kids in separate bags. Don't pull everything out at once. Entertain the kids as needed with: new markers and sketch pads, glow sticks, hula hoops, coloring books, magnets and cookie sheets, new books, finger puppets and electronic games.
Summer vacation should feel free and luxurious. You should forget all of your cares and live like this is the time of your life. These travel tips for summer vacation will help you enjoy yourself without worrying about the little things.
