It's the Longest Day of the Year. Protect Yourself.

Cabana Life 50+ UPV Sun Protective Clothing

Today marks the summer solstice. It's the longest day of the year, the beginning of summer, the moment that officially launches a few months of play and freedom. It's also the day that you may be exposed to more sunlight than any other day of the year.

Today, sunrise is earlier and sunset is later. You'll be exposed to UV rays all day long, even if it's cloudy or you're inside. UV rays can penetrate glass, and they can also damage your skin even if you don't really see the sun.

This is the perfect day to reconsider your daily sun protective routine. Are you using SPF every day? Do you encourage your other family members to use it?

If your kids are squirmy now, imagine how wiggly they're going to be when they get sunburned after a day of playing outside. Get them used to having you slather on the sunscreen every day, and it will become a nonissue in a few years.

Cut back on the amount of sunscreen that you use and the time spent applying it by choosing an even better option: sun protective clothing. Clothing that's been specially created and tested for its ability to block UV rays can cover you up so you can spend more time outdoors with less time hassling over lotions and sprays.

At Cabana Life, we understand that you don't just want to protect your skin from the sun at the beach. You need to protect it every day. That's why we have designed sun protective clothing that you can wear anywhere.

If the kids are in summer camp, dress them in rashguards and swim shorts that keep their skin protected.

If you're traveling to a sunny destination, pack some wrinkle-resistant women's dresses to help you look amazing in less than five seconds.

If your husband is spending the day on the golf course, he can wear a men's rashguard to protect his arms and shoulders without worrying about slick sunscreen messing up his game.

Whatever you're doing today, it's important that you protect your skin. Getting in the habit now will help you stay safe throughout the rest of the summer (and all year long).
